Do you have some iPads at your disposal? Want to make good use of them at code club?
That’s what we like to hear!
I’ve got some excellent app recommendations for you.
Scratch Jr.
Scratch Jr. is another product from the wonderful team at MIT that brought us Scratch.
It brings their block language games and animations to the touch screen, and does so with excellence.
We’ve found that this app works particularly well with the younger aged (under 8) kids.
Swift Playgrounds
Swift is the name of the programming language Apple uses on the iPhone. Swift Playgrounds is a free app geared for kids. It teaches the basics of coding through puzzles, games and challenges.
Again, we’ve found this app to be a great fit for the younger crowd. It’s a touch screen experience, and really well made.

There are some others out there, but those two should get you pretty far. Enjoy!
