From the Creator:

"I live in Wellington, New Zealand’s capital, which has a museum with interactive exhibitions. I added zoom animations to the pictures because of this, and solved a tricky challenge coding yellow section lines. A school lesson inspired me to try this, and I love how clicking a picture makes it pop up with a blurred background. I’m thankful to my parents for their support."

Organization: Upper Hutt City Library

13-18 Year Old Category

First Place: "A Cosmic Gallery: Our Solar System and Beyond"

Creator: Flk5798

From the Creator:

"For my project, I was inspired by NASA's "Eyes on the Solar System" simulation with live 3D planets. I thought that it really shouldn't be all that difficult to put a flat texture map onto a sphere, but I was quite wrong. I encountered a lot of errors, first with not being able to source texture maps from online or even files in the project itself, rendering the unintentionally cylindrical textures as yellow, gray, and even rainbow! Fortunately, the planets eventually started rendering correctly after a few fixes, so all that was left was the best part of the challenge: adding some satisfying transition effects and hover effects and then playing around with the project."

Organization: Ridgewood, Queens Public Library

Second Place: "Stellar Sights"

Creator: Cat-Coder

From the Creator:

"I was honestly super surprised when I heard I made the top three for this round, all the other submissions are so amazing!! This project was a bit of a challenge for me since I'm really not into making websites- more into code block games. However, it was super fun to learn different ways to use CSS to make the website pop and look awesome!! My advice for anyone struggling or not wanting to try and learn different code languages is to just make sure you're having fun"

Organization: Renfrew Public Library
