We are so excited to announce Fiero Code has received a platinum award in LibraryWorks’ ninth annual Modern Library Awards (MLAs.) The MLAs were created to recognize the top products and services in the library industry in a truly unbiased format. Products and services were submitted in the fall using a simple application, and then were posted on a private site with an enhanced description and attendant materials. These products were batched into small groups and sent to the LibraryWorks database of more than 80,000 librarians at public, K-12, academic, and special libraries. Only customers with experience with these products/services in their facilities were permitted to judge the products/services, resulting in a truly unbiased score.
Fiero Code scored an astounding 9.37 out of a possible 10! I mean, holy smokes – we’re blown away!
Here are a couple quotes from the judges:
It has been rewarding to watch students start at ground zero coding knowledge rise to a level where they rush to help others with limited knowledge.
This is a great product for all patrons but particularly for our youth. It teaches them to code early on, which will prepare many of them for a future in tech.
We have been using Fiero for a few years now. We have always had a great experience and our classes are always full with some on a waiting list. This is a high demand for our area. I only wish they had more advanced coding for teens and adults. This is a great beginner program.
An excellent service is the support for learning how to teach the code/run the club as well as hosting and providing prizes for the contests. One of the few companies that provide ready to go social media as well.
We’re not after awards, obviously. We’re here to help people unlock hopeful futures. But at the same time, a little recognition here and there goes a long way. We’re really touched to see how much Fiero Code is resonating with libraries.
